Investing.com – Canadian stocks were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in, and sectors propelled stocks higher.
At the close in Toronto, the index increased 0.37%.
The biggest winners of the trading session were BlackBerry Ltd (TSX :), which rose 10.65% or 1.30 points to trade at 13.51 at the close. Bombardier Inc (TSX 🙂 added 7.89% or 0.150 point to end at 2.050 and Capstone Mining Corp (TSX 🙂 was up 6.16% or 0.30 points to 5.17 at the end of the session.
Biggest losers included Centrera Or Inc (TSX :), which lost 5.44% or 0.51 point to trade at 8.78 at the end of the session. Equinox Gold Corp (TSX 🙂 lost 5.10% or 0.47 point to close at 8.64 and Eldorado Gold Corp (TSX 🙂 lost 4.57% or 0.48 point to 10.03.
The rising stocks topped the falling stocks 566 to 416 and 121 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The, which measures the implied volatility of S & P / TSX composite options, was unchanged at 0% at 11.27.
In commodities trading, gold futures for December delivery fell 1.62% or 28.85 to $ 1,749.95 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery rose 1.23% or 0.89 to $ 73.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.23% or 0 .94 to trade at $ 77.13 per barrel.
CAD / USD rose 0.98% to 0.7905, while CAD / EUR rose 0.50% to 0.6730.
The US Dollar Index Futures lost 0.46% to 93.028.
