Canada Stocks Fall When Trade Close; S & P / TSX Composite Index Declines 0.04%


Investing.com – Canadian stocks were lower at the close on Thursday as losses in, and sectors propelled stocks lower.

The biggest winners of the session were Artis REIT (TSX :), which rose 9.42% or 1.03 points to trade at 11.96 at the close. Lion Electric Co (TSX 🙂 added 6.57% or 0.78 points to close at 12.66 and Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX 🙂 rose 6.27% or 0.96 points to 16.27 at the end of the session.

Biggest losers included Energy fuels inc. (TSX :), which lost 3.74% or 0.380 points to trade at 9.780 at the end of the session. Birchcliff Energy Ltd. . (TSX 🙂 was down 3.46% or 0.230 points to end at 6.410 and ARC Resources Ltd. . (TSX 🙂 lost 2.97% or 0.35 points to 11.42.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining 738 to 303 stocks and 91 finished unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The, which measures the implied volatility of S & P / TSX compound options, was down 3.62% to 14.91.

In commodities trading, gold futures for February delivery rose 0.62% or 11.15 to $ 1,816.95 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for February delivery rose 0.05% or 0.04 to $ 76.60 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0 .05 to trade at $ 79.16 per barrel.

CAD / USD rose 0.41% to 0.7849, while CAD / EUR rose 0.63% to 0.6930.

The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.05% to 95.975.
