Canada Stocks Fall When Trade Close; S & P / TSX Composite Index Down 0.24%

Investing.com – Canadian stocks were down at Friday’s close as losses in, and sectors propelled stocks lower.

At the close in Toronto, the index was down 0.24%.

The biggest winners of the session were Whitecap Resources Inc . (TSX :), which rose 10.02% or 0.59 points to trade at 6.48 at the close. Enerplus Corporation (TSX 🙂 added 5.88% or 0.51 point to end at 9.18 and Interfor Corp (TSX 🙂 rose 4.55% or 1.42 point to 32.66 at the end of the session .

Biggest losers included Denison Mining Company (TSX :), which lost 7.65% or 0.14 points to trade at 1.69 at the end of the session. NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX 🙂 lost 6.37% or 0.390 points to end at 5.730 and Cameco Corp (TSX 🙂 lost 5.68% or 1.53 points to 25.43.

Falling stocks outnumbered rising stocks from 535 to 421 and 135 remained unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The, which measures the implied volatility of S & P / TSX composite options, was unchanged at 0% at 11.27.

In commodities trading, gold futures for December delivery fell 0.15% or 2.65 to $ 1,747.15 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery rose 0.89% or 0.65 to $ 73.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0 , 74 to trade at $ 77.99 per barrel.

CAD / USD lost 0.01% to 0.7900, while CAD / EUR rose 0.22% to 0.6744.

The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.31% to 93.323.
