Canada’s share is higher at the close of trading; S&P/TSX Composite Index up 0.67%

Investing.com – Canadian equities were higher at Friday’s close as gains in sectors , and propelled stocks higher.

At the close in Toronto, the rise of 0.67%.

The biggest gainers in the session were Eldorado Gold Corp (TSX:), which rose 6.21% or 0.43 points to trade at 7.35 at the close. New Gold Inc (TSX:) added 6.10% or 0.05 points to end at 0.87 and B2Gold Corp (TSX:) rose 5.94% or 0.23 points to 4.10 late in the session.

The biggest losers were Tilray Inc (TSX:), which fell 5.74% or 0.27 points to trade at 4.43 late in the session. Shopify Inc (TSX:) lost 3.91% or 1.61 points to end at 39.54 and Westshore Terminals Investment Corp (TSX:) lost 3.53% or 1.07 points to 29.22.

Rising stocks outnumbered falling stocks 571 to 405 and 105 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX compound options, fell 3.02% to 21.53.

In commodities trading, gold futures for December delivery rose 0.70% or 12.05 to $1,721.35 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for October delivery rose 0.59% or 0.51 to $87.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.03% or 0, 95 to trade at $93.31 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 0.76, while CAD/EUR was unchanged 0.07% to 0.76.

US dollar index futures fell 0.12% to 109.55.
